committee and supported by skilled staff, locally, regionally
and nationally.
Megan Howes
Megan has been with Suffolk Constabulary since 1989 but
did not join
the union until 1991. Her first role on the Branch
Executive was as
Branch Treasurer a position she held for three years.
During 1994 Megan
was elected as Branch Secretary. Since then she has built
up a wealth of
knowledge and experience within the union and of all
matters around

Mavis Hurst
Mavis is a Station Clerk at Bury St. Edmunds, and our
current Chairperson. Following
a long career pounding the streets of Bury Streets as
a Traffic Warden. Mavis has been very active within Unison
for many years, not just at branch level, but has given
up many hours of her time to represent our branch at the
Eastern Region. She has helped voice member's opinions
on may issues including the new uniform after sitting
on the uniform committee for many months. |

Tim Wright
Tim is Branch Treasurer and has the tough job of
looking after our limited branch funds. Tim is a Station
Clerk at busy Lowestoft and has been a Unison member for
some considerable time. His main hobby is bee keeping. |

Carol Grimsey
Carol is a Senior Traffic Warden at Ipswich. She has
worked for the force for nearly 18 years and has been
a Unison Steward within the southern area for 7 years.
Carol's main hobby is enjoying holidays abroad. Please

Nigel Turner
Nigel is a Community Support Officer in Lowestoft and
our current Vice Chairperson. He has been with Suffolk
Constabulary for more than 14 years, and until fairly
recently was employed as a Traffic Warden. Nigel can be

Barry Trodd
Barry is the Steward and the Health & Safety Rep.
for the Western area. He has been a Custody Assistant
at Bury St Edmunds Custody Suite for over 12 years following
his retirement from the Royal Air force in 1991.His main
pastime is video recording and editing on a computer based
system plus the odd game of golf. He can be reached on

Christine Shelley
Christine is better known within Suffolk Constabulary
as 'Tina', she has been a Station Clerk Since 1990 and
is our current Education Officer. Prior
to this she was a Coach driver and still holds a PSV licence.
She has been a steward and H & S rep since 2001 -
She is also on the regional committee for the Eastern
Region. When she is not at work or dealing with Unison
matters she enjoys supporting IPSWICH TOWN along with

Paul Hyder
Paul works as a Procurement Officer in Central Services
at Force Headquarters and can be found in FHQ Stores. He
knows all about the supply needs of Police Officers having
been one himself for over 30 years before retiring to take
on his present job some 5 years ago. Paul enjoys fell
walking, collecting antiques and railways, both real and

Keith Clarke
Keith is currently a Station Clerk at Beccles, and in
addition to being a Steward is also a member of the regional
committee for the Eastern Region. Prior
to being a Station Clerk he was employed as a Traffic Warden at Lowestoft,
clocking up a total of 13 years service with the Force.
Before joining Suffolk Constabulary Keith was a Minister of
Religion in the Salvation Army, serving mainly in Norfolk.
and has also served 13 years as a Police Constable with
Devon and Cornwall Constabulary. Keith can be contacted on

Mark
Stace
Mark is a Scenes
of Crime Officer based at Lowestoft, and represents the
Scientific Support Staff. After serving fifteen
years in the Royal Air Force he joined Suffolk Constabulary
in January 1990. Mark is our current web master.
He enjoys
Karate, photography, and repairing computers. Because of
shift patterns the preferred method of contact for Mark

Suzanne Taylor
Suzanne is a Police Community Support Officer currently working in Kessingland, she has been with Suffolk Constabulary for nearly two years. Suzanne is a qualified youth councellor and before joining us worked with young people on the streets, in schools and children's homes. She has also admitted to supporting Leeds United.

Staff Branch can attend branch meetings, vote
and stand in branch elections and get involved in our
campaigns and activities.
We are always looking for people who feel they can contribute
to the branch and to helping other members. This could
be a regular commitment or just the occasional hour or
so. We also provide training courses and support for our
